Use Two Washes

This is a combination of wet-into-wet and variegated washes. The sky is a soft wet-into-wet wash, allowing the colors to blend softly together. The line of foliage, while still a wet-into-wet wash, shows more control and the colors only slightly blend. The Olive Green edges also softly blend with the Burnt Sienna in this controlled manner.

Creating a Variegated Wash

1. On a damp, saturated paper, place areas of Sap Green and Raw Sienna side by side.
